FreePBX is an open source implementation of Asterisk with a web-based graphic user interface (GUI) that is perfectly comfortable in our Linux environment. Out of the box, FreePBX has native support of SIP, IAX, and other custom extensions. All Asterisk trunk technologies are supported.

How to Get It

If you are running Version 2.3 or later, there is no need to pull the tarball to upgrade. You can simply use the Online Module Administration page to upgrade the entire package by choosing the FreePBX Framework Module. Otherwise, complete instructions to upgrade from a tarball can be found at: Upgrade Instructions

How to Use FreePBX

Installing FreePBX from scratch requires the installation of many prerequisite components. Although there are several pre-configured ISOs available (see above), detailed instructions for several flavors of Linux can be found on the Installation Instructions Page at freepbx.org.
