Operation Give Back: Holiday Gifts for Children

Operation Give Back: Holiday Gifts for Children

On December 14th, VoiceNation celebrated an amazing year at our “2013 End of Year Banquet”. And like years past, we announced a new, heartfelt social initiative that transformed the lives of others as we bring 2013 to a close. Two years ago, we donated funds to build a clean water well for those who lack access to clean drinking water in developing nations. Last year, we gave local children in need a holiday to remember. And because our staff had so much fun shopping for those kids, we decided to sponsor more children this holiday season! We got our hands on a Christmas wish-list for 44 children ages 7 months to 16 year old, who are in need and/or currently living in foster care! And the fun began!

At our banquet, staff picked up their “Operation Give Back: Holiday Gifts for Children” folder complete with a child’s first name, age, favorite color, clothing sizes, and the funds to purchase the items on the child’s wish-list. “We wanted to give our employees the opportunity to experience the gift of giving this holiday season. It’s such a rewarding feeling to be able to do that for others,” explained President Jay Reeder. “That’s how we grow and empower others to make a difference, by leading by example.”

With only a week to shop, VoiceNation staff purchased toys, clothing and more. Gifts from coats and scarves, to Legos and personal hygiene items filled our 39 gallon bags. As staff helped stuff the bags full of gifts, smiles filled the room. “It brings so much joy to my life to be able to do this for a child,” said one staff member. Another responded with, “My heart is full. It’s rare a company does this for their staff. I’m so thankful to be a part of VoiceNation. This is an experience I’ll never forget.”

Our company was able to purchase over 613 gifts for these 44 children of LAMP Ministry, Another Chance, and Woodville Elementary School. The best part of the entire Operation Give Back experience is that a few members of our team contributed their own funds to be able to purchase more than what the child asked for. That’s what giving is all about! Doing what you can to help others, because you want to! Check out some of our photos on Facebook!
