What Are They Up To? – January 19th-23rd

Penguins and Dragons and Tea, oh my!

After a week of everything Disney that was full of games and tons of prizes, we had to tone it down just a bit. It can’t be Disney Week every week… no matter how hard we wish it could!

It was Penguin Awareness Day on Tuesday and we were given the chance to adopt our very own penguin (or any other endangered animal that we felt drawn to) through Secure Defenders. Camille, one of our sales reps, adopted a wolf and Amber, our Outreach Coordinator, adopted a Clouded Leopard! (Be sure to head over to Secure Defenders and adopt an endangered animal of your own!)  We didn’t get to adopt any dragons, but Wednesday was Appreciate a Dragon Day and we celebrated with trivia centered around our favorite dragons from our favorite mythical stories!

Thursday we jumped into National Hot Tea Month by gifting our taste buds with a variety of tea that most of us have never tried before. It seems like the black teas are a hit around here, but the lavender and the chamomile definitely deserve an honorable mention. Amber was so excited that she took the basket and skipped through the office to encourage us to try something new.

While we had fun with dragons and tea this week, perhaps our most important day wasn’t the one that was the most picture worthy. It wasn’t about trying new flavors or watching funny videos online. It was the day that we were able to remember a man that changed history. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘what are you doing for others?’” So on Monday, we celebrated the life of an incredible man by choosing to be intentional in what we do for others. Whether that’s through one of VoiceNation’s many volunteer opportunities and our non profits ( Voice4Nations and Georgia CALLS), or by one simple act of kindness for someone who needs it, we can change the world for the better.

This week, we hope you’ll join us by choosing to change the world for someone who needs it. Leave a comment and let us know how it goes! And be sure to check back in next week to see what we’re up to!
