We are pushing the limits of Asterisk with our SmartRoutes modules. With this module you can control inbound call routing based on skill, from one trunk to another, and many other features.

If you are running Version 2.3 or later, there is no need to pull the tarball to upgrade. You can simply use the Online Module Administration page to upgrade the entire package by choosing the FreePBX Framework Module. Otherwise, complete instructions to upgrade from a tarball can be found at: Upgrade Instructions

Installing FreePBX from scratch requires the installation of many prerequisite components. Although there are several pre-configured ISOs available (see above), detailed instructions for several flavors of Linux can be found on the Installation Instructions Page

FreePBX is sponsored and supported by a number of individuals and companies committed to the FreePBX Mantra. Bandwidth.com is the Principal corporate sponsor because every phone system needs a phone number and long distance (for those keeping score, it’s not mandatory to get Bandwidth.com’s service with FreePBX products). FreePBX enjoys strong relationships with Digium, the sponsors of Asterisk, the guys at the FreeSWITCH project, the Elastix Project, PBX-in-a-Flash and FonicaPABX.

The heavy lifting of the FreePBX project comes from dozens of developers, testers, contributors and highly active users. Stay tuned for a link that will recognize many of our higly appreciated community members!
